Joshua “FLEWNT” Eggington is an award winning, Proud Nyoongar Wongi rapper from Boorloo (Perth). With a strong family legacy rooted in activism. Flewnt uses his raw Hip Hop flow and modern-day musings as his platform to articulate a powerful, positive, and uplifting message for his people.

FLEWNT’s musical journey continues to evolve and inspire. He has played major Australian Music Festivals, the Sydney Opera House, represented Australia at SXSW Austin in Texas, helped put SXSW Sydney on the map; FLEWNTS Boorloo Block Party goes from strength to strength with a regional tours, rap battles and a main event as part of Perth Festival with artist selected to perform going on to feature on Triple J. FLEWNT is a multiple award nominee and winner including WAM song of the year, WAM best indigenous and appeared on Global smash show America’s Got Talent with his son INKABEE and continues to break down barriers elevating First Nations people Globally.

Joshua has always believed that Hip Hop is a powerful, positive voice to reach, inspire and encourage young people to express themselves and build their confidence. Hip Hop has a transformative effect particularly for disadvantaged young people. To that end Joshua’s Hip Hop facilitation and workshops throughout the community including in schools, remote communities, regional towns and youth detention centres has allowed him to directly influence so many young peoples lives building trust and confidence, empowering and inspiring positivity for those he works with. Joshua has worked and developed songs with 2 separate acts, The Proud Noongar Boys and INKABEE, with these songs both winning Triple J Unearthed High School Indigenous Awards in 2021 and 2023. Josh continues his work for Youth Mental Health working closely with HeadSpace and other organisations. As a result of this continued work Joshua was awarded the 2024 Young Citizen of the Year for Melville, WA.

Joshua’s belief in the power of Hip Hop was further cemented with his selection as the first representative of Australian Hip Hop to be invited by the U.S State Department to attend the inaugural IVLP (International Visitors Leadership Programme) focusing on Hip Hop and Civic Engagement, where he spent time in the U.S with his peers from Hip Hop around the world advising on how Hip Hop can be transformative as a positive, engaging, uplifting force to inspire young people around the world.

Joshua believes in representation, and to that end and with his entrepreneurial spirit Joshua, with his business partners Tani Webb and Glenys Opum have started their company, FN Focus. FN Focus is a First Nations owned record label and artist development company focusing on promotion and development, and providing sustainable pathways and foundations to First Nations Artists and creatives.

Tani, a Papua New Guinean with Mekeo and Popondetta roots is a founding director of Boorloo based West Australian music business FN Focus. The FN Focus Fam are First Nations and Aboriginal owned with Tani guiding Artist Development and Music Management. Her passion is great music and developing an unforgettable live show. Tani believes that to create and make the most of great moments artists need great music, passionate people who believe in them, and an evolving plan where artist profile and personal branding, combined with innovative ideas, aligned with national and international connections are all equally vital in making those moments and maximising the opportunities they create.

Tani’s main focus has been the national and international development, promotion and profile building of the FN Focus Artist roster. This currently includes: FLEWNT, INKABEE and JJ VACANT.

Tani has over seen the development of FLEWNT and INKABEE including performances at AGT (America’s Got Talent), a festival defining viral performance at SXSW Sydney with Chance the Rapper, performances at SXSW Houston (U.S), a viral performance on Triple J’s Bars of Steel, playing the Sydney Opera House at Vivid Sydney and various national festivals, international supports and regional tours for her artists. She has also negotiated and over seen commercial development opportunities including brand sponsorship, label distribution partnerships and personally Tani has represented FN Focus with Sounds Australia on music industry trade missions to Mexico and the U.S.

Tani started song writing at a young age and was invited back to her country of birth, Papua New Guinea to write an album when she was 18. This would be a crossover of Pacifica and contemporary pop / hip hop music. The album was a Pacific region award winning number 1 album, with number one songs, that saw Tania perform at major stadiums and venues across PNG and in Australia.

Tani was spotted busking in Perth as a 12 year old by American producer and Grammy award winning musician, Lonnie Plaxico whilst touring with Casandra Wilson. Lonnie mentored Tani for many years before inviting her to New York as a 21 year old to be part of an invite only mentorship programme to develop her vocal, song writing, lyricism and performance skills. She sang at iconic venues, like New York’s Blue Note Café, wrote songs for various artists and worked as a ghost writer in various New York Hip Hop studios during her time there.

Tani continues to write for various artists and perform on tour with Flewnt and for select projects. She has written songs for SBS for National Harmony Week, and NITV for the Pacific Games in PNG. She was a lead performer and wrote and performed music in “On Our Beach” a WA award winning production. She was a writer and producer on Dr Richard Walley’s Six Seasons project and has worked in the studio and on live projects with artists like Birds of Tokyo, Flewnt, Downsyde, Beni B’Jah and JK47.

Tani is a member of the AAM (Association of Artist Managers) and FN Focus are a member of AIR (Australian Independent Record Label Association).

Glenys comes from a diverse background, having cultural connections to the Martu, Yamatji and Yued (Noongar) people in Western Australia, the Badu people of the Torres Strait Islands, and to the Senglapkanem tribe of Papua New Guinea.

Glenys has vast experience in the media and radio industry, having been one of the youngest radio managers in Western Australia. Through her education and experience she brings a wealth of knowledge in the media and marketing space. She strives to elevate her people, demonstrating the resilience of all first nations around the world.

Whilst media has been a major contributor to Glenys’s career, she has also worked in urban, remote and rural indigenous communities, assisting in bridging the gap between the digital divide and supporting the socio-economic outcomes for first nations individuals to receive information and digital access. Her community work has positively transformed indigenous communities in her home state, Western Australia, and in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Having worked for the peak body of all First Nations media within Australia has allowed Glenys to be given the opportunity to connect with organisations and individuals who advocate and represent First Nations voices. Using her experience, connections, and dedication to further empower First Nations individuals.

Scott “Optamus” Griffiths is a West Australian Hip Hop industry Icon helping establish HipHop as a forced to be reckoned with in Australia. From rapping to producer, facilitator, youth worker, musical director, program coordinator and of course legendary beat maker; Optamus has worked with the A List of Australian Hip Hop including The Hilltop Hoods, Drapht, ABoriginals, Flewnt and Inkabee. He has toured Europe, the U.S and South America and is roundly regarded as the OG of the West Australian Hip Hop scene.

Optamus is a founding member of Downsyde, WA’s most successful Hip Hop group, he has won and been nominated for multiple music industry awards both as Downsyde and Optamus including Australian Dance Awards Best Debut Artist, Best Album, Best Single, Best Hip Hop Act, WAMi Awards including Best Live Act, Best Urban Music Act, Video Clip of the Year, WAM song of the year and Best Hip Hop / Urban Category.

As well as continuing his work in original music and production, Optamus also delivers programs in schools, prisons, aboriginal communities, and at at-risk youth facilities. He is globally regarded for his Pedagogical innovations in the development of Hip Hop Education and Therapy having worked across Australia and in New York the home of Hip Hop.

With his over 18 years’ of experience in facilitation, lecturing and Youth Work with his company HIPHOP101 Optamus has recently joined forces to continue his work with the FN Focus team on our Beats & Rhymes program.

TEHIIRI is an Indigenous Māori artist, international Bboy, Breaking Judge, and qualified Mental Health Professional (B.Soc.Serv - Mental Health). Proudly hailing from Tauranga, Aotearoa, TEHIIRI’s twenty-five-year journey in Hip Hop reflects his Māori heritage and traditions. As a five-time Australian Breaking Champion with Fresh Sox, his contributions to the culture are unmatched, and his artistry explores Indigenous resilience, identity, and unity.

With an international career judging and performing in countries like Malaysia, Vietnam, Switzerland, Singapore, France, China, Japan, and the USA, TEHIIRI has solidified his reputation as a global ambassador of Hip Hop. A member of renowned crews Fresh Sox, 7 Dollars, and MZK, and a student of Bboy pioneers, he continues to elevate the artform while celebrating his cultural roots.

Blending his heritage with his passion for community, TEHIIRI creates transformative programs like Kwinana Beats, using Hip Hop Therapy and culturally informed counseling to empower marginalized youth in Western Australia. His work in detention centers and communities connects young people with their stories, ancestry, and potential, fostering pride and self-knowledge.

As part of his ongoing commitment to the next generation, TEHIIRI contributes to artist development with FN Focus, guiding rising stars including INKABEE, Taija, and JJ Vacant. His mentorship strengthens their creative direction while grounding their artistry in cultural pride and lived experience.

Through his artistry, advocacy, and mentorship, TEHIIRI amplifies Indigenous voices, uniting traditional values with modern Hip Hop to inspire change, cultural pride, and collective strength.
